Movie Review: The Lost Bladesman

“The Lost Bladesman” is based on one phase of the life story of general Guan Yu, a worshipped leader who played a significant role in the civil war that led to the collapse of the Han Dynasty and the establishment of Shu Han of the Three Kingdoms.

In the beginning, Cao Cao is hoping that he will continues to serve him as his close ally. Unfortunately Guan Yu remains faithful to his sworn brother Liu Bei (Alex Fong), who is actually Cao Cao's intended enemy as well. So, Cao Cao let the strongest warrior, Guan Yu to start his journey because he is fulfilling his duty to escort Liu Bei's concubine, Qilan (Sun Li) back home safely. And to make things complicated, Guan Yu has been secretly in love with her but afraid to express his feeling because he doesn't want to betray his loyalty against Liu Bei. Soon their long journey becomes increasingly dangerous as Guan Yu has to find way to overcome a few generals, hence the "crossing five passes and slaying six generals" in the process before able to reunite with Liu Bei. But, Guan Yu and Qilan manage to be survive when they tried to reach Liu Bei?

Long time I don't watch the fighting war movie after last movie, Red Cliff 2 related with Three Kingdoms. I think that this movie make you all learn from Guan Yu's humanity and emotion. I like the moral messages that Guan Yu brings to everyone, include the Generals. He always think of everyone in China because he don't want them to suffer in the wars. He sure feel pain and have no choice to kill the soldiers in his battlefield only. In China, many generals and soldiers are killed because they are loyal to Emperor and never think about losing your life when they are fighting with another warlords during the Three Kingdoms era.

I really admired Donnie tries to act like Guan Yu character who delivered the great abilities and always not give up when he battles in every battlefields! I feel this movie is good because Guan Yu always make us to think so positivity. Be honesty, I think Cao Cao is evil warlord because he is very brilliant and military genius that sure want to seek the strong power. He sure is cruel when he is in front of the enemies only but, in this movie, he loves his people in his place and also give good advices to everyone!

Every Chinese people sure know the history about Guan Yu was the strongest person in the universe during Three Kingdoms era. Because Guan is respected as an epitome of loyalty and righteousness. So, everyone d has their own image of Guan Yu in their heart and still pray to Guan Yu as a god an until today.

I learned that the three famous warriors, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei are very strong/ close in the relationship until they sworn to be real brothers and really want to protected each other if they faced the danger in their battlefield.
