If you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Subang Jaya, look no further than Rendang House. This popular restaurant specializes in traditional Malay cuisine, and their nasi lemak with rendang chicken is a must-try for anyone who loves bold flavors and hearty portions.
I usually bought nasi lemak from a Malay stall every morning before I went office. After MCO 2 years, I am very busy with design projects so I missed the nasi lemak very much, due to fewer stalls along the street already. My good friend, Woan Koon asked me to join her to review the Rendang House restaurant located at SS15, Subang Jaya. I'm happy!
Nasi Lemak Rendang at Rendang House: A Delicious and Authentic Malaysian Experience
Nasi lemak is an all-time favorite Malaysian dish of rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves, served with a variety of accompaniments such as sambal, peanuts, ikan bilis (anchovies), and hard-boiled eggs. It is a popular breakfast and lunch food in Malaysia.
Rendang is a favorite Malaysian dish of slow-cooked meat in a spicy coconut sauce. It is typically made with beef, chicken, or goat, but can also be made with seafood or vegetables too. Rendang is a popular dish for special occasions, such as weddings and festivals!
I recently had the opportunity to try the nasi lemak rendang at Rendang House, and I was not disappointed. The nasi lemak was cooked perfectly, with the rice being fluffy and fragrant. The rendang was also delicious, with the meat being tender and flavorful. The sambal was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and the peanuts and ikan bilis added a nice crunch to the dish.
We also ordered the ala carte dishes, Ayam Masak Merah and Sambal Mixed Mushroom. The Ayam Masak Merah was delicious and rich because this sauce is spicy tomato chicken. They are available for Thursday and Weekend only. And the Sambal Mixed Mushroom was a flavorful and hearty dish.
If you feel not enough, you can add more dishes, and check the ala carte on this menu!
Rendang House also has a variety of snacks, so I tried the crunch cucur udang and yam prawn popcorn. The cucur udang was light and crispy, and the yam prawn popcorn was a delicious and savory snack.
Additionally, I saw people of many races dining at the Rendang House! In addition, they prepared the Halal ingredients for the various nasi lemak dishes. I did listen to a brief tale about the Rendang House owner's mother who started to sell the nasi lemak at her street stall during MCO 2.0, thus her homemade nasi lemak won the heart of diverse races of people who love to eat her special nasi lemak! So, she learned the recipes from her mother and open her nasi lemak business in SS15, Subang Jaya which is known among the young people who love to eat there!
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Rendang House. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I would definitely recommend Rendang House to anyone who is looking for a delicious and authentic Malaysian meal.
